Sarah Carpenter

Sarah specializes in promoting business respect for human rights globally. Following the 2013 Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh, she took on a leadership role as an advocate and influencer for human rights, and supported the United Nations International Labour Organization’s work to reform the garment industry.
Sarah has worked for a range of rights-based non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including Plan International and the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability. She is the former co-chair of the Slavery and Trafficking Risk Template Development Committee, chairs Assent’s corporate social responsibility team, and represents Assent on the Social and Labor Convergence Program.
