Q&A With Spencer Eady
Q: What do you love most about working at Assent?
A: It’s nice to be able to sell into a market where there isn’t a lot of competition. It’s great being the best solution out there. We don’t have to do too much work to convince someone that we have the right solution.
Another nice thing about working at Assent is the way we’ve set up our account executives for success. I’ve worked at a lot of places where you’re on your own. Assent has allowed us to focus on selling and on doing what we do best, supporting us with regulatory experts to help us stay on top of things, and providing awesome product support teams. They make it easy to focus on hitting your goals.
Q: What brought you to Assent?
A: I was hired as an engagement specialist five and a half years ago. The job description fit perfectly with my skill set. I liked the idea of working in the tech space — that was intriguing. Assent was a place that gave me a chance.
Q: What does it feel like to sell a solution that makes a positive impact on customers’ business?
A: It’s great working with customers and seeing their programs find success. It’s wonderful working with them and seeing progress made where they hadn’t made it before. It’s exciting being able to work with people that want to do the right thing, but don’t have the resources to do it.What’s great about Assent is that we come in and give people the tools and support they need to make an impact and find success where they couldn’t before.
Q: How would you say Assent has empowered your career development or personal growth?
A: Being able to work at Assent and grow with the company has been incredible. I started off in an entry-level position in 2017, and I was able to move into business development. I got an opportunity to become an account executive and go from our mid-market bracket to enterprise all the way to strategic.
Assent has been a place where I’ve been able to grow. I’ve been able to advance my career. Thinking back on it, I don’t know if I would have been able to get to this point this quickly anywhere else.
Q: Assent has a flexible “work the way it works for you” culture. How have you created your own unique work experience?
A: The flexibility to work from home or work from the office has been great. I live five minutes from the office, so when I have days when I know I’m going to want my own space, I work from home. I’m able to execute projects and still stay in touch with everybody that I need.
On days when I need to get motivation from my colleagues or put my head down and grind it out, I like to go into the office.
