Our recent acquisition of IPOINT in July 2026 builds on our European foundation, adding more than two decades of product compliance, material intelligence, and life cycle assessment expertise to our product intelligence network. IPOINT has long supported manufacturers in automotive, electronics, and broader manufacturing, becoming a trusted partner to a majority of global automotive OEMs and their suppliers. Now, that support is available to Assent customers.

Compliance and sustainability requirements built for the European market rarely stay contained to Europe. By the time a product reaches an EU shelf, it may have passed through the hands of designers, suppliers, and assemblers spread across several continents. Manually chasing information throughout your supply chain isn’t feasible when your supply chain is scattered around the world, and expert guidance needs to be tailored to your company’s needs in order to be useful. 

Assent’s acquisition of IPOINT brings the local knowledge essential for interpreting nuance, understanding of industry practice, and deep expertise to manufacturers and distributors operating in Europe. It strengthens the Assent Network so our customers can confidently engage suppliers at scale, gather defensible information, and connect supplier data to the products and materials affected by changing regulations and customer requirements. 

Building the Foundation for What Comes Next

The next era of product compliance and sustainability will be defined by the quality of the underlying data foundation companies have access to. It won’t be enough to know that a supplier completed a declaration, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate that the information is complete, credible, current, and tied to the right product. Requirements like those under battery passports, the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), and DPPs all raise that bar. As more companies are leaning into proactive Digital Product Passport readiness, this localized expertise is a huge advantage we are proud to offer our customers. 

For existing Assent and IPOINT customers, continuity remains a priority. Customers will continue to receive service and support as integration progresses, with roadmap details shared as they’re confirmed. Over time, the combination will give customers broader access to the capabilities, data, expertise, and networks of both organizations.

Our Continuing Work in Europe

Assent’s new presence in Reutlingen, Germany combines the Assent Network with the established European relationships, automotive experience, and deep industry expertise manufacturers need to get ready for what’s next in the regulatory space, including support for IMDS, End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV), and product carbon footprint requirements.

This may mark the beginning of a new era in product compliance and sustainability intelligence. But it’s built on a European foundation nearly a decade in the making.
