Quarterly Innovation Update: What’s New at Assent in Q3 2026

By Catherine Cormier

At Assent, every release starts with the same question: How can we help manufacturers and distributors make smarter, faster decisions using connected product, supplier, and regulatory information?

This quarter, we continued strengthening the Assent Network. Our acquisition of IPOINT expands the expertise and capabilities we can offer, giving our customers greater confidence that their products are ready for the world. We brought distributors into the network with a purpose-built, automated experience. We gave compliance teams a single, packaging-focused view of their Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation risk. And we made the supplier experience faster, clearer, and far less manual.

We also updated four regulatory modules so programs stay aligned with the newest requirements in packaging, recycled content, information security, and extended producer responsibility (EPR).

Whether you’re leading your business, helming a global program, or managing part-level data every day, these updates are built to give you back time and more confidence in your data. Here’s what’s new, and what it means for your business.

What’s New This Quarter

IPOINT Acquisition

Manufacturers and distributors are being asked to provide greater proof of what’s in their products, where materials come from, and the impact their products have throughout the life cycle. Answering those questions requires connected product, supplier, and regulatory information teams can use from design through end of life.

This quarter, we expanded our product intelligence network through the acquisition of IPOINT. The combination brings together Assent’s product compliance and sustainability expertise with IPOINT’s capabilities in material intelligence, life cycle assessment, product carbon footprint, and product stewardship.

IPOINT also brings more than two decades of experience supporting automotive manufacturers, including global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their suppliers. IPOINT’s deep knowledge of automotive material compliance, IMDS, and industry requirements strengthens Assent’s ability to serve automotive customers in North America and Europe.

Through the acquisition, Assent customers gain access to more intelligent product material compliance, product sustainability, and responsible sourcing capabilities. IPOINT customers will benefit from Assent’s global part and supplier network, deep regulatory expertise, and managed services and support.

Together, these capabilities give manufacturers and distributors a more complete picture of their products, from what goes into them to the impact they have on the world. This strengthens the trusted product data foundation teams need to answer customer questions, meet market requirements, and make smarter decisions with confidence.

The Assent Distributor Experience

Distributors sit in one of the toughest spots in the supply chain. They buy from thousands of manufacturers and sell to thousands of customers, and both sides expect compliance answers fast. For most distributors, that work still runs on email, spreadsheets, and manual follow-up.

The new Assent Distributor Experience changes that with a distributor-centric workflow built directly into the Assent Network.

Distributors can now:

  • Load and manage full parts and supplier catalogs using easy, self-service import tools.
  • Automate data collection from thousands of manufacturers.
  • Generate requests and network invitations automatically and consolidate them into simple supplier emails.
  • Answer customer requests automatically using both Assent’s customer request features and the email-based Request Manager for non-Assent customers.
  • View project status with dashboards that show compliance coverage, response rates, and supplier participation in real time.

Here’s how it flows: A distributor uploads catalog data, Assent normalizes it at the part and supplier level, and the platform sends compliance requests to the right suppliers. Suppliers respond in the same workflows they already use. When customer requests arrive, the platform answers them, often without anyone needing to touch the request.

For leaders, this replaces a service-heavy process with a scalable, automated one and protects revenue tied to fast compliance answers. For the teams doing the work, it means fewer manual pulls, fewer chasing emails, and a live view of where the gaps actually are.

Expanding Assent’s EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) Solution

PPWR introduces interconnected requirements spanning substances, packaging composition, recycled content, supplier evidence, and EPR. Assent’s PPWR solution brings these needs together through connected packaging and product data, supplier engagement, regulatory intelligence, and evidence-management capabilities. Recent enhancements make that comprehensive approach even more valuable.

A new consolidated PPWR dashboard gives compliance teams a unified view of how packaging items and parts are statused against Toxics in Packaging, REACH SVHC, EU POPs, and sustainable product substances requirements. Teams can assess status across their packaging portfolio, identify gaps or affected packaging, and export detailed substance-level findings for further analysis and compliance activities.

Assent has also added a recycled-content survey to the PPWR package. This provides customers with an early way to begin collecting recycled-content information from suppliers and preparing the data foundation needed for PPWR’s mandatory recycled-content targets for plastic packaging beginning in 2030, with higher targets following in 2040. Assent has also expanded its technical file support, pairing a standardized Declaration of Conformity template, a technical documentation workbook, and a detailed completion guide with a one-hour review session with an Assent regulatory expert, so teams can organize the packaging data and supplier evidence behind their conformity assessment and prepare a defensible technical file.

Together with Assent’s EPR data-collection capabilities, these enhancements help manufacturers manage more of their PPWR data and evidence within one connected solution. Instead of treating each requirement as a separate exercise, teams can build trusted product intelligence that supports near-term compliance work and can be reused as PPWR requirements evolve.

The Assent Integration Connector

Product and supplier data is valuable for more than just compliance. That same data can be — and often must be — used in various places throughout your business. When different business units all need access to similar data, and value chains are deeply interconnected, the cost of keeping that data siloed multiplies. In fact, Assent’s independent analysis indicates that 68% of businesses identify fragmented systems and manual processes as a top challenge, creating significant data management burdens. However, closing that gap requires a connected network of product intelligence that helps manufacturers manage risk and operate with more resilience and efficiency.

The Assent Integration Connector keeps data current, connecting Assent directly to the enterprise systems where it originates and providing end-to-end data visibility. Whether your data lives in SAP, Oracle, PTC Windchill, or Siemens Teamcenter, the Assent Integration Connector can reach it, with these and more than 200 pre-built connectors spanning ERP, PLM, EAM, EHS, supply chain, and BI systems.

Manufacturers can now bring their operational data directly into Assent, freeing themselves of the cost and hassle of manual spreadsheets and custom integrations.

Supplier Experience Improvements

At Assent, we know that better compliance data starts with a better supplier experience. This quarter, we made two significant investments there.

Responsible Minerals Updates

We have updated our Responsible Minerals solutions so suppliers can more easily and proactively share conflict minerals and extended minerals data at the supplier and part levels with all their customers through the Assent Network. Suppliers can declare at company-wide, product, or custom scope, and they can submit proactively, choosing whether to share broadly across the network or with specific customers only. Valid declarations can automatically be reused to satisfy eligible requests from other customers. A supplier only needs to declare once to satisfy multiple requests.

Additionally, Assent also supports the submission of unbranded Conflict Minerals Reporting Templates (CMRTs) and Extended Minerals Reporting Templates (EMRTs) moving forward. Because the underlying structure and data requirements remain unchanged, these submissions will be fully compatible with the conflict minerals and extended minerals responses customers already expect.

Usability Updates

We also shipped a set of usability improvements that target the most tedious parts of a supplier’s day:

  • Bulk filtering by Product ID allows suppliers to paste up to 100,000 values from an ERP or PLM system to instantly narrow a catalog, then act in bulk.
  • The new “Action Required” requests view splits the Open tab so suppliers see only what genuinely needs their attention, separate from what’s waiting on a customer.
  • One-click export of action-required requests makes it easy to share work across teams and prepare responses offline.
  • Part matching by spreadsheet lets suppliers link hundreds of customer parts in a few actions instead of hours of one-by-one matching, with declaration data applied automatically afterward.
  • In-app notifications provide a new bell icon that tracks background jobs like imports and exports, so suppliers can keep working and download results when they’re ready.

All of this points in the same direction: faster supplier responses, higher completion rates, and less supplier fatigue.

Other Key Updates

In addition to these major releases, we’ve updated several regulatory modules to ensure alignment with the latest global requirements:

  • Toxics in Packaging DSL
  • Information Security
  • Recycled Content
  • Extended Producer Responsibility
  • California Proposition 65 — Manufacturer
  • California Proposition 65 — Distributor

These updates ensure programs remain aligned with evolving regulatory obligations worldwide.

Conclusion

Building products the world can trust requires more than meeting regulatory obligations. Manufacturers and distributors need connected product, supplier, and regulatory information that helps teams make confident decisions and take action at every stage of the product life cycle.

That is what this quarter’s innovations deliver. The Assent Integration Connector brings product intelligence into the enterprise systems where sourcing, design, and operational decisions take place. The acquisition of IPOINT expands that intelligence with deeper material, sustainability, life cycle, and automotive expertise. The new Assent Distributor Experience, PPWR reporting, supplier improvements, and regulatory module updates make it easier to collect trusted data, identify risks, and act with confidence.

Together, these innovations strengthen the Assent Network and give teams the insight they need to make smarter decisions, build better products, and scale their programs. We are proud of what our teams delivered and excited about what comes next. Thank you for your continued partnership and feedback. It helps guide every decision we make.
