The Assent Trader Support Desk Team represents an incredibly valuable support resource for the Assent trading community. By all means, stay in touch with these guys. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to speak with them, give them a call sometime and introduce yourself.

The Trader Support Desk is a close - knit group of hardworking and resourceful veterans. Odds are, if you're experiencing an issue where you need troubleshooting assistance or specific support, these guys will have the answers. If not, they'll know who to go to in order to meet your support needs.

When you're reaching out to the Assent Trader Support Desk, it is extremely important that you provide some key profile information. Without such, they won't be as effective in their efforts to support you. Every time you contact the Desk, you should let them know up front, the following: what your name is, what your log - in ID is, where you're trading from and what version of the trading software you are using.

ANVIL Software

We often receive questions from the field about the ANVIL trading software. Does it have this feature or that feature? How can I set up this or that setting to accomplish x,y, or z? Is there a hot key that I can map that does .... where do I get the latest software? ... and related questions.

So, what we frequently do is point traders to the website that we've set up specifically up for the ANVIL trading software. This site has an enormous amount of documentation about the many features and components of the software, and includes a secure downloads portal that contains:

* a user's manual, complete with a wealth of screen shots and documentation about the mapped hot keys and how to map your own

* some ANVIL FAQ's

* some tips about customized ANVIL settings

Remote Access (SSL) Software

We also field quite a few calls from traders who aren't clear on where to get the remote access software that you'll need in order to trade with us. So, we usually respond to these inquiries with:

Our Trader Support Desk has coverage from @ 7 AM (EST) through to 8 PM (EST). We've set up an automatic call switchover process to allow our west coast support team to handle some of the support desk call in traffic. In the event that an ECN line goes down, or some other production issue arises, our support team is usually very busy focusing on identifying what the issue is, and what our options are for dealing with them.

Lastly, don't forget just how much data must rapidly stream back and forth between our distribution servers and your computer. In the first half of 2007, the amount of market data from various market centers exploded, growing four or five fold in no time at all. So, to keep pace with this rapid growth the computers you use need to be really, really fast and powerful and kept up in good virus - free operating order. Plus, your Internet connection needs to be as fast as allowable by your means and location. In summary, if you want to be a successful trader, the infrastructure and computing tools you're going to use will play a huge role in whether you can be as successful as you desire. For these and other reasons, we always encourage traders to get the most powerful/fastest computers as feasible.
