Opening a New Customer Account

Assent LLC account holders have access to our incredibly fast, powerful and highly customizable trading platform. As outlined on our Account Types page, we support various different types of accounts, so if you haven't already reviewed this page, it may be helpful to do so.

We stand behind our slogan, Smarter Execution Through Exceptional Technology, and we encourage you to confer with an Assent Branch Office Manager, to review your previous trading experiences and what you're looking for in a trading firm. The steps involved in the new account opening process are outlined below, for your review.

STEPS FOR OPENING A NEW RETAIL CUSTOMER ACCOUNT

Initial Review With Branch Office Manager About Opening an Account With Assent LLC

  • An initial review with your Assent Branch Office Manager will give you the opportunity to discuss your prior trading experience, trading strategies, and any special requirements you may have so we may fully be prepared to effectively serve your needs.

Retrieving and Completing the New Account Package

  • Next, retrieve and complete the appropriate online new account application from our Clearing Site: http://www.assentclearing.com/andv_openaccount1.asp
  • Print out and complete the required sections where information is being requested, including the Checklist, the New Account Form as well as the Market Data Entitlement Request Form and Market Data Subscriber Agreements
  • Carefully verify that the Checklist (Page 2) is completed, including meeting the requirements to furnish photo ID and other identity verification materials
  • Sign and/or initial each segment as requested
  • Please don't hesitate to contact your Branch Office Manager at any point in this process if you have any questions. We would encourage you to refer to the Frequently Asked Questions and Answers segment of this site.

Provide Your Completed New Accounts Package to Your Branch Office Manager

  • Mail or provide the original copy of your New Account package to the registered Branch Office Manager who will supervise your account

Fund Your Account

  • Make sure your account is properly funded, either through the deposit of a first party check drawn on an account in your name or through a Fed wire submitted to Assent using the instructions listed in the New Accounts package
  • Note: If your new Assent account is being funded as a result of a transfer of accounts (ACATS) from another broker - dealer, please contact the Assent Margin Department to review the process that typically takes place.

Branch Office Manager Reviews Package, Completes Their Sections

  • The Branch Office Manager will review the package, complete and sign their sections of the application, and forward on the completed package to Assent's New Accounts Department in Hoboken, NJ (5 Marine View Plaza, Hoboken, NJ 07030). The Branch Officer Manager will also fill in the required profile information that we incorporate into the Trader Authorization Control application that we use to set up trading parameters for your account.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CERTAIN NEW ACCOUNT OPENING REQUESTS MAY REQUIRE SUPPLEMENTAL DOCUMENTS ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS.

Hoboken New Accounts Dept. Verification & Handling

  • Once everything is verified, we'll set up an account number and a new trader ID for you. At this time, we'll be applying the rates and various trading level parameters your Branch Office Manager has submitted on your behalf. We'll confirm this information back to your Branch Office Manager, who in turn will provide it to you

Your Branch Office Manager Will Confirm To You That You’re All Set To Trade!

  • Your Branch Office Manager will then get you up and running and will arrange for any assistance you may need in getting the required trading software and your keyboard layout configured, as well as any special charting or remote access software you may need
  • NOTE: If you plan on using any automated trading strategy programs, there are some additional pre - account opening steps and documentation your Branch Office Manager must review with you.

  • Your Branch Office Manager will also set up and confirm for you the log on ID you'll need to monitor your account on the clearing site: (www.assentclearing.com)

Installing the Trading Software & Remote Connection Software

  • You'll now be able to access our automated software installation package, (http://anvil.assent.com) which guides you through the process of downloading the appropriate trading software onto the computer you'll be trading from. At this time, if you're trading remotely, we will also guide you through the appropriate steps to install the remote software and other peripheral software (i.e. charting software as an example) you may need
